Preschool
Becket Hall is a listed historic Church Hall, where we have 4 classrooms. We offer well-equipped, educational spaces along with a lovely enclosed large garden.
Pre-school comprises of two rooms; Adventurers and Creators.
The second upper deck: Adventurers are for our children from age 2 years. The classroom offers free flow play with our Explorer’s group on occasion and have beautiful circle glass cut-outs with sensory lights in the balustrade, which allows for them to see their friends below in pre-school and in the garden.
Ground floor classroom: Creators are for children 3-4 years old. The open plan play area downstairs for our toddlers and pre-schoolers also allows for free flow onto the garden & path and use of the outside children’s toilet.
The building is also comprised of our children’s toilets, a kitchen, dining area/messy meal space where children enjoy cooking activities, and a parent area/ office and staff room. We can accommodate up to 48 children with 12 members of staff who maintain a 1:3 ratio for under 2’s and a 1:4 ratio for 2-to-3-year-olds and a ratio of 1:8 for 3-5-year-olds.
We also run a care home initiative with Osborne Court Care Home in Bedminster. Since 2016 our preschool children have created a partnership with our local residential care home, and visit the care home every fortnight to spend time with the elderly residents. It has been such a success that BBC Points West and the One Show ran a story on us, please see the points west clip below, as well as our feature on The One Show. Since our partnership went public Channel 4 produced the show ‘old peoples home for 4 year olds’ here in Bristol and we are pleased to discover more nurseries are rolling out these partnerships across the country, and we are privileged to have supported some of these setting by sharing our journey.
